The ISC has announced that on Tuesday morning, October 20, 2015 between 00:00 and 03:00 SURFnet and the ISC will perform maintenance on the connection of the RU with SURFnet/Internet. From 00:00 to 01:30 there is no connection. Between 01:30 and 03:00 short interruptions may occur. We advise to check which systems can be affected by this and if possible shift network activity to a different time slot. You also might think about systems with alerts via Internet....

In the morning of October 8, some KM MFPs will be switched, in order to have the faster/bigger machines at the locations where the print volume is te largest. The server lilo4 stalled at shutdown during the monday morning reboot. Solution: power cycle. Cause currently unknown.

Wednesday September 30, around 4:00 p.m., Radboudumc will carry out a test by switching off the power to almost all their buildings. For the RU buildings this test has no direct effect. Liander states that switching off and on again will have no noticeable effect on the rest of the power net in Nijmegen including Radboud University. However, switching high power always has the possibility of introducing a power problem elsewhere....

Saturday September 12, between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., maintenance work will be conducted on the network router at the Faculty of Science and a number of server switches in C&CZ data centers. This means that between these points in time, a few brief network interruptions with a duration of approximately 1 minute will occur. Many FNWI servers will be unreachable at those moments. The Mitel IP phones will also go out of service momentarily several times....

This morning we came to know that mails to mailing lists were not accepted by the mailing list server. The reason was a change that was made last Friday because of the new smtp server mid July. After correcting the change, mails were accepted again.

During the move this weekend of network shares to a new server, an administrative error was made, that prevented the server from rebooting ok. After correcting this, the server booted ok. A leak above the KM MFP hg PR-03-825 made this fail beyond repair. We hope to resolve this by replacing it by a little-used KM MFP of the same type.
